Cheese Bar

Some brides may go for the cupcake bar. Other brides might opt for the homemade pie bar. And this bride, well, I'm finding myself seriously considering a cheese bar! Doesn't that sound delicious? Cheese might be my favorite food (second to potatoes of course, I can't deny my Irish roots).
I love the elegance of these cheese bars - fancy rind cheese displayed on cake stands - so chic, decadent, and oh-so-French! So I ask, what's a fantastic cheese I could add to my hypothetical cheese buffet?

gruyere cheese! it's so soft and smooth and it has such a wonderful, yet mild taste.

a cheese bar sounds absolutely fantastic to me!

oOOO I love cheese!!! A cheese bar? I never thought of that! The only thing I that might be an issue is stinky breath depending on the cheese! But that might make for some interesting conversations!! =P

A cheese bar would be fantastic!

I was at the Taste Washington Food & Wine Festival on Sunday and there was a cheese maker serving coconut cheese. It was a light, creamy cheddar made with coconut milk and it was TO DIE FOR. SO good!

This is their website: http://cheeselandinc.com/home1024.htm

I think a cheese bar would look fabulous next to a pasta bar... ;)

Not an answer to your question (although I do love some wensleydale with cranberries and some smoked gouda), but have you seen these super fun cheese palettes? http://youaremyfave.com/spotted-and-hearted-93/

oh gosh, this just made me hungry. I would LOVE to attend a wedding with a cheese bar....but I seriously would have a hard time walking away from it. Pair it with some good wine. Heaven.

You might need more than one or possibly small versions of this at each of the tables otherwise all your guests will be congregated all around the cheese bar the whole night! I love this idea and have to do it at my next party. (oh, and how cute would small cheese centerpieces with stands and platters would look on individual tables! With candle light!!)
