The Value of a Dollar

These are photographs from Jonathan Blaustein's The Value of a Dollar Project. Isn't it interesting? Unfortunately, I can see why many eat poorly, it is cheaper to eat unhealthy processed foods than fresh organics. I mean, just look at the blueberries vs. ramen.

Ooh, that is interesting and yes, sad. I guess we just need to remind people that it's worth the money to buy produce and there are ways to do it more cheaply. (dried beans, frozen produce, etc)

oh man--this makes me mourn for our messed-up food system. it's so true--you have to have a generous food budget to enjoy fresh, healthy foods these days. that's why i think things like community gardens in distressed neighborhoods is such a fabulous, fabulous thing!

God, this really is depressing. No wonder the world is becoming such an utterly unhealthy place. Truly upsetting.

that is so interesting, scary how much ramen that is! no wonder we have health issues. ps - I saw you are reading the book thief - I loved that book! have you read unbroken? I highly recommend it if you haven't!
