Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary to my one and only.  You are my partner in crime, my shoulder to lean on, the calm to my crazy, and the best daddy our baby could ever ask for.  I can't wait for all of our adventures to come, and am comforted to know that you'll be by my side as we continue this journey together.
Love you, love you.

A Year Ago Today...

Hard to believe it has already been a year!
Some days it feels like 5, others it feels like yesterday.
Though today is a touch more rainy than a year ago today, the occasion is just as sweet.
Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband!  We are celebrating tonight by staying in, dining on defrosted red velvet wedding cake, chicken pho, and a movie.  Sounds quite perfect if you ask me.
I love you to the moon!

6 Months!

Today is our 6-month anniversary!  6 months, I can hardly believe it's been half a year since our wedding day, where does the time go?

I feel so incredibly blessed to have married my best friend, and comforted in the fact that we get to spend our lives together.  I am so excited for all the years to come and adventures that lie ahead of us.

Happy 6 month anniversary babe!

Wedding Dress Preservation

I have a question for all y'all married ladies. Just curious, how much did you pay to clean and preserve your wedding dress? I'm trying to do my research and find out what's a typical or "average" price so I don't overspend.

I had such a fun time wearing my wedding dress, that I want to make sure it's preserved in great condition. It's hard to believe after one full day of wearing it (and a handful of fittings and trials), I'm packing my beautiful dress away in a box!

However, I plan on taking it out every year on my anniversary and waltzing around the living room...just for fun! Do you have any wedding dress traditions?

Quote of the Week

I'm still in a blissful wedding daze and thus not quite ready to return to my regular postings about ordinary things.. so on this happy Friday, I leave you with an Irish wedding blessing I love that we included in our wedding program.

You are the star of each night,
You are the brightness of every morning,
You are the story of each guest,
You are the report of every land.
No evil shall befall you, on hill nor bank,
In field or valley, on mountain or in glen.
Neither above, nor below, neither in sea,
Nor on shore, in skies above,
Nor in the depths.
You are the kernel of my heart,
You are the face of my sun,
You are the harp of my music,
You are the crown of my company.

It's Official...

We're married!
(This picture isn't us, by the way...waiting for our photographer pics to come in before I debut)
Our wedding day was perfect. Seriously, perfect.
Everything I wanted it to be and more.
The sun peeked out of the clouds just in time for pictures,
all the little details came together seamlessly,
and I had a flurry of excited happiness throughout the entire ceremony and reception,
just as I had hoped for and imagined.
And of course the dance party that followed,
was pretty darn awesome as well!

But, you want to know the best part...
I'm now married to the love of my life, my best friend.
And I get to call him my husband, he's all mine!

More details to follow, stay tuned!

Sunshine Song

Since I'm exuding positive energy and praying for sun this week in excited anticipation of my wedding this weekend, I thought I'd share a new favorite song that always brightens my day. Whenever I listen to this song, I literally feel lighter, happier, and usually find myself subconsciously tapping along to the lively beat. It's my sunshine song.

Do you have a sunshine, mood boosting, put-you-in-a-good-mood favorite song?

Let the Countdown Begin!

I know it's not official yet, but I can feel fall in the air. The wind feels a little chillier, the air is slightly crisper, and the leaves, they are a-changing.

My fiance and I had a fabulous fall-feeling weekend back in Michigan for his sister Kristyn's wedding. The wedding was beautiful and everything went off without a hitch. I flew in at 6AM Friday morning for a 3:00 PM wedding (which lasted until 12:30 AM the next day). Fueled by coffee and champagne, we danced the night away and had a fantastic time.

Before flying out for the wedding, many people had suggested that attending a wedding so close to our own might be stressful. I had totally disregarded this thought since I LOVE weddings, and in reality, everything was totally fine. In fact, the excitement of partaking in the wedding festivities made me even more excited our wedding is NEXT! I can't even begin to tell you how excited we are that our wedding is just around the corner!

Rings

Our wedding rings just arrived! I tried mine on just for kicks and it fits perfectly. All the pieces of our wedding puzzle are starting to come together. :)
Can't wait!

Fitting Day

Today is my first wedding dress fitting! I'm so excited!! All the pieces of the wedding planning puzzle are starting to coming together. Now the countdown is on, less than 2 months to go, ahhhh I can't believe it!! :)

Something Blue

Isn't this a darling idea for a bride's "something blue?" What a lovely little detail, the date of the happy day embroidered on the inside hem of the wedding dress. Love!
As of late, I'm still trying to figure out my something old, new, borrowed, and blue... My front runner for the blue category is a few pairs of sexy chic blue undies I received at my bachelorette party. Ooh la la!

What did you do for your something blue?

The Bachelorette is Back

I'm back!
My bachelorette party was amazing, sooo much fun!
Thanks a million times over to my best friends who planned a fabulous weekend in Vegas!

We had the best time;
Friday night, cruising the strip in a pink hummer limo that after a broken AC incident was upgraded to a party bus,
dancing the night away at Marquee,
indulging in late night eats at the ever-delicious-at-3-AM Grand Lux Cafe...

Saturday, private cabana and pool party at Encore Beach Club,
A drive thru In-N-Out burger,
Dancing and champagne at NYNY,
Ending the night with a stellar view from the Foundation Room.

Finally, Sunday recovering poolside all day
before taking in the lovely Bellagio fountains,
and the familiar lights, sights, and sounds that accompany a walk down the Las Vegas strip.

The best time! Pictures to follow shortly...
Now it's time to get married!!

Outta Here!

And I'm out!
Tonight, I'm off to enjoy my bachelorette weekend with my favorite ladies.
Excited for some fun in the sun!!

Recap when I return. Have a fabulous, fun-filled weekend!

Guest Book 101

To guest book, or not to guest book...that is the question. I'm trying to figure out what to do exactly for our wedding guestbook. I haven't written off the traditional "book," where people sign and write cute and clever messages. But...in the interest of inspiration, I'm seeking other creative ideas. So I ask, what would you do for a guest book?

In the mean time, I'm enjoying these ideas...
Pass a note to the bride a groom
Type a note to the bride and groom
Guests find their birthday and sign their name
"Send" a postcard to the bride and groom
