Ideas?

Ladies (and gents), I am in need of a bit of bridal shower inspiration. As I mentioned before, bridal shower season has dawned on my life, and I've got one this upcoming weekend and not a clue of what to get the lovely bride.

Let me explain...the theme is a 'Round the Clock shower, meaning each guest is assigned an hour of the day and your gift is suggested to reflect that hour. For example, 4pm would be margarita glasses for happy hour. Well my hour is 1am...not the first thing that immediately came to mind was lingerie, but I want my gift to be tasteful and chic. I mean, 1am on a weeknight I'm usually sleeping, and on a weekend I'm usually winding down or (gasp) already in bed.

Any ideas of a clever gift to reflect this hour?

How much are you trying to spend?

Good question - spending probably no more than $35.00...

Ohh that is a tricky hour! I would probably do something with sleeping. Maybe a sheet set or a nice throw. The only other thing I could think of is a late night snack basket filled with goodies. Then you could find some cute bowls on their registry for ice cream or popcorn. Then you could just fill it with more accessories (an air popper, an ice cream scoop). I dunno, hope this helps!

two ideas: a robe or two bar/drinking glasses for a nightcap sort of thing! I don't think I've ever had a nightcap, but it is an original, old romantic idea...

I've seen nightstand carafes (glass and small pitcher) for a drink of water right at your fingertips, and they're quite cute. You can get them at Crate & Barrel or Williams Sonoma. If the bride has sheets on her registry, you could get those and have them monogrammed. If you want to go the nightwear route, a cashmere-blend robe and a silk eyemask are two great little luxurious gifts that won't break the bank. Hope these helped!

Cute idea for the shower! Along the same lines as previous posters, I was thinking of linen spray, candles, an eye mask, a cute notebook and pen to keep bedside, maybe a box of tissues. Basically anything that you could find in a night stand but pretty-ed up a bit! :) Hope that helps!

I think some cookies - or better yet, frozen cookie dough frozen into little balls (make ahead, flash freeze, bring in a cooler). Who doesn't love a little midnight (or 1am) snack of homemade cookies? :)

I love the theme!
I would probably get her some lovely bath salt or aromatherapy bath and room oils and attach a card with writing: " Goodnight kit: After a long day have a relaxing bath to wash of the day"
Or a great creamy liquor and attach a note in a style of "That will put you right to sleep"
Have fun…

Myself, at one AM I'm usually quite productive, working on my computer or being crafty or reading or crocheting while watching a movie. I'm a nightowl, however. However, no matter what I'm doing, I'm always sipping on tea, and I'm always in my kimono-robe and ballet slippers. It's all about coaxing the body towards bet eventually :)

a light, little robe or something could be so cute - perfect for nighttime, not as eyebrow raising as lingerie :)

i second kim's midnight snack idea... maybe four or six "double" glasses and a box of pretty macroons or cookies or something. They can then use the glasses for milk OR whiskey.

I think a sleeping mask, and some pretty little slippers would be nice..... maybe candles for pretty light and scent.... or bath oils/bath confetti..

the couple's board game sounds like a fun idea! at 1am i am most definitely knocked out -- you could get her cute nighties (f21 has really cute ones for cheap!) and/or earplugs!! (seriously, we need them sometimes.)

How about a cute night light?

What a fun idea for a bridal shower! I've never heard of that theme before and I think it's so cute. :)

All of the ideas that I have are pretty much already stated.

BUT, I think a big basket with a combination of things would be so cute. Slippers, classy pjs!, maybe a bookstore gift card? Movie stuff, popcorn, etc. Stuff for a nightstand? Have fun! Let us know what you decide! :)

What about a really cool bedside clock? I only think of this b/c I am an insomniac and usually at 1 am (or any other hour of the night) I am checking mine. =)

One of the best gifts I received at one of my bridal showers was a pretty cotton nightgown. It wasn't sexy per se, but it wasn't frumpy either. It was just really sweet, and the perfect sleeping attire for summertime!
