Breakfast Boredom

What's your breakfast routine? I'm one of those people that can't eat the same thing every morning. I always try out new things and eventually, breakfast boredom ensues. In recent weeks, I've gone through an apple-cinnamon oatmeal kick, which transitioned into a phase of Cheerios with sliced bananas, and finally I settled with English muffins with butter. And once again, breakfast boredom has reared it's ugly head. Now, I've got an abundance of these ingredients sitting idly in my pantry, and a breakfast craving waiting to be filled.

My latest breakfast routine includes Trader Joes granola mixed with sliced strawberries and vanilla Greek yogurt. I'm sure I'll tire of this soon enough, but I'm looking for some alternatives. What is your breakfast routine?

If I'm working, breakfast is at best a banana in the car, or a cup of tea and a biscuit once I get to work! If not, cereal is my go to, and I always make sure I have plenty of choices in the cupboard so I don't get bored. Your breakfasts look much more imaginative than mine!

Well first, that english muffin with avocado looks delicious.

Sometimes I have poached egg on a piece of toast with feta or blue cheese sprinkled on top, and 1/2 a grapefruit on the side.

Or oatmeal with blueberries & honey & sliced almonds.

100 calorie bagel (really thin) with cream cheese and sliced strawberries (or other fruit, like blueberries, raspberries, or mandarin oranges).

FRUIT BREAKFAST SMOOTHIES!!! :) Milk (or soy), many fruits, protein if you want, ice, occasionally peanut butter, and taadaa!!

Hope some of these sounded good! :)

leftovers from the night before. haha. I guess that at least (hopefully) it's not the same every morning!

Right now I love eating a bowl of steel-cut oats with a liberal dose of cinnamon, brown sugar, and walnuts. (My husband skips the walnuts in favor of several spoonfuls of pb.) For a while we were doing spinach and feta frittatas, but I totally burned myself out on those.

P.S. Simply Breakfast is one of my favorite blogs!

i would eat the same thing everyday if i could. in fact i did until wal mart ran out of one of my ingredients. i love to scramble egg whites with morning star sausage crumbles and put that over no fat refried beans. for some reason, i can't ever get enough... and it's been months.

This is so unoridge, but I do Carnation Instant Breakfast every morning, because I can grab and go and it's reallllly good. I was scared off by it my whole life thinking things like that weren't my cup of tea, but one morning my usual breakfast items were all out and it was the only thing in my fridge(it had been left there by a friend.) Needless to say, I've been hooked ever since.

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, so I am always changing it up, sometimes I make up a bunch of breakfast burritos ahead of time, or other times just some yougurt and fruit, french toast with brioche bread, and my STRANGEST... scrabbled eggs, with a little syrup drizzled on, and then I scoop up the eggs with Cheesy Doritos... I know! Everyone thinks I'm an ailen, but I tell them they can't truly object until they try it. :) Hope this helps!

Also, is that avacado, pepper and peanut butter on an English muffin in the second picture!?!

i'm always one for eggs. egg in a hole. or egg sandwiches on the english muffin. just add cholula sauce and it's like magic in your mouth.

I spy avocado toast!
And i'm a savory breakfast sort of gal - eggs, bacon, buttered toast, scrambles... occasionally i'll dip into the oatmeal world, but come back very quickly to the salt. If you eat/like eggs, perhaps try a new way of making them every day? baked, poached, soft boiled (my personal fav), scrambled, fried... and obviously with all sorts of great toppings!

This morning I had the most delicious breakfast - light organic wheat bagel with one wedge of laughing cow cheese and 1/4 cup egg beaters. Delicous breakfast bagel sandwich and was fairly easy to wrap in a napkin and take with me in the car.

I love Greek yogurt!! Fage is my favorite (after having it in Greece), and I eat it with honey all the time. Another favorite: toast + honey + sliced bananas...the honey somehow makes the banana slices just melt in your mouth! Yum...how I love breakfast :)

Scrambled eggs with spinach! yum. if I have time, breakfast potatoes with that. heavy breakfasts always make me eat less/healthier the rest of the day

When I have my flax seed granola cereal it's just that with plenty of vanilla soy milk. If I'm out, could be anything!

I wish we had a Trader Joe's close to me. I usually don't eat breakfast or grab something quick on my way out the door.

I am on an oatmeal/granola/fruit kick too -- especially inbetween my shifts at work.

I am a big smoothie fan too, I got some flax seed that blends up quite nice with whatever yogurt and fruit I have in my fridge (healthier and cheaper than Jamba Juice too!)
