Wall Of Pencils

Check out this wall made entirely of #2 pencils!  Pretty cool, isn't it?  This yellowy-orange wall is located at The Bold Italic's headquarters in San Francisco, designed by Kelly Malone.

While as a teacher, I see plenty of #2 pencils in an average day, I'm not sure I'd emulate this wall in my own home, but nonetheless, I find it fascinating!  Think how much time it probably took to create this masterpiece?

Corkcicle

Isn't this the coolest? Meet the corkcicle. This was made for me, the girl who always forgets to refrigerate white wine before serving. Is it wrong to start my stocking stuffer list for Christmas 2012 in January?

Fortune Cookie

Love this fortune cookie necklace - especially since the fortune (near the clasp) can be customized to your heart's desire.

What would your fortune say? I tried to dig up a few clever fortune sayings, (with the help of google...of course). Here's a few I might put on a fortune cookie necklace.

- Love always and deeply

- Your heart is a place to draw true happiness

- You find beauty in ordinary things, do not lose this ability

- Something wonderful will happen today

What would yours say?

Split Decision Pie Pan

I soo need this! The split decision pie pan. When you can't decide what pie to make - compromise an make both! In my family, we often encounter the Thanksgiving dessert dilemma of - apple pie or pumpkin pie? Sounds like we may have a new solution, and it's a crowd pleaser!

Ingenious!
Why didn't I think of this??

Letterpress App

I just spotted this over at Design Mom, a letterpress app for ipad (yet another reason why I'd love to own an ipad!). I'm a huge fan of letterpress, every few months I scour etsy looking for great letterpress cards to stock up on, in addition to the fact that our wedding invitations are letterpress too!

I find that I am constantly amazed at technology, and how these amazing crafts can be harnessed and turned into online applications for the novice eager to DIY! An intro to the art of letterpress for the beginner like myself (without the costly expense of the press) = very cool!

Dancing Shoes

Check out my new kicks! These little guys are going to serve as my dancing shoes for the wedding. I've been on quite the shoe hunt for a while now, as you probably remember. As such, I still haven't quite figured out what shoes I'm wearing for actual wedding...

Who knows? Maybe I'll end up just sticking with these bad boys for comforts-sake. I'm definitely a wimp when it comes to uncomfortable shoes.

Regardless, I'm pretty excited about these shoes, aren't they darling?

You're Toast

Aren't these toast coasters cool? Have your morning coffee with a slice of toast...literally.

Kampai!

I think "KAMPAI" is my favorite phrase for "Cheers!" This Japanese expression which translates to "Bottoms Up," or "Empty Cup," quickly became one of our favorite Japanese expressions to say while traveling throughout Japan. Especially when kampai-ing over good quality cold sake as in the picture below!
Now I need these cheers glasses, so I can have people over to toast in every language!

Wedding Shoes

I'm on a mission - to find the perfect wedding shoes. Since I'm 5'11" and would like to be shorter than my fiance on the big day, I'm looking for wedding flats in lieu of wedding heels. However, I don't want to skimp on style simply because I'm opting for flats. Having said that, I'm kind of a wimp with shoes, and comfort is important. I mean, I'll probably be wearing these shoes for half the day, so they have to sustain the evening without blisters (if possible).

So I ask all you brides out there - where did you find your wedding shoes? Any recommendations; brands, websites, secrets you're just waiting to share with future brides? I'd love some ideas!

Red or White?

I don't know about you, but I am sure glad it's Friday. This has been a long, arduous, stressful week at school. I am very much looking forward to tonight and a glass of vino with girlfriends. On another wine note: aren't these etched wine decanters awesome? I would love to buy these and host myself a wine tasting party like this! Want to come?

Ooh La Lights

Ooh la lights! I am in love with these Arctic Pear chandeliers! I just love how this chandelier dapples the light. If only I had a place to hang this delightful chandelier...

House Hunters International

I just discovered a new show which I'm now currently obsessed with - House Hunters International on HGTV. I've never really indulged in any of the HGTV shows previously, because I made the blanket assumption that most HGTV shows would be about home projects or renovations, which I didn't think would keep me interested... And yet, I'm finding myself captivated by this show because they take home buying international!

I've been DVRing up a storm, and have watched potential buyers travel to Mexico, Morocco, Slovenia, and beyond in search of the perfect international home. I think it's more inspiring to me from the travel perspective than the actual home, but nonetheless, I'm enjoying my new TV find!

If you could buy a vacation home in another country somewhere in the world - where would it be? Right now I think I'm leaning toward France or Argentina (based on what I've seen on House Hunters International).

World's Coolest Penthouse

Is this not the world's coolest penthouse? It's like a geometrical wonderland, and it's all atop Seattle's very own Smith Tower (which back in 1914, was the tallest building West of the Mississippi!). The penthouse, affectionately known as "The Lighthouse," resides in this mostly commercial building as the tip-top residence, 462 feet above Seattle. What a way to grow up!

Aren't these ladies-in-waiting plates adorable? I'd love to purchase the whole set and then have all my girlfriends over for a lady-in-waiting dinner!

Letterpress Love

I collect letterpress cards, have I told you that? Every so often, I order a handful of lovely letterpress cards and slowly mail them out throughout the year for birthdays, showers, and my fave -- "just because" cards. Currently loving the letterpress creations of Green Grass Press. You really can't go wrong with fireflies in mason jars!

Hot Coffee?

I know it doesn't look like much, but this coffee tumbler is AMAZING! Seriously! And I've gone through my fair share of mugs, tumblers, and the like... This new little guy from Starbucks is double walled - translation: it seals in the heat and keeps your beverage warm while the exterior remains cool to the touch. AMAZING, right?

I might just have to get one in every color...
