Stroller Search

Since we're just two short weeks away from the halfway point of my pregnancy (!!!), I figure it's high time I do some research on the best products for baby.  First up...STROLLERS!

Lately, I've been perusing my fave mommy blogs to read their takes on their preferred stroller.  Here is a pretty good stroller post that gives some honest pros + cons for a handful of popular ones.  Prior to being in the stroller market, I'd always heard about the Bob, but I realize there are many more options on the market now, and I don't want to see myself short.

So mamas...what's your stroller of choice?  Please share anything and everything - why you LOVE your stroller or hate it.  I'm all ears :)

Obviously I have no advice to give, but I'll be interested to see what people say! The ones where there car seat can go straight in seem like they would be handy?

It really depends on where you live and how you will be using it. You'll get different answers from city moms vs. those that may need to navigate muddy or snowy suburban sidewalks. Also if you're a runner your needs may be somewhat different. Also if you're taking the baby to day care every day vs. having them at home. Lots of considerations.

That said - here's my answer: For the first few months, I pretty much only used the snap 'n go. Being able to move the baby from car to stroller and out again without taking them out of the car seat is excellent. They're small and relatively cheap too. Then I had the Bob. I LOVED my Bob. Awesome for suburban sidewalks, great for running, really smooth, easy to fold, etc.

Then I had a second baby, needed a double stroller, and found that the double Bob is really freaking wide. I sold my Bob and got a Phil & Ted's, where the second seat goes behind the front. If I knew I was going to have two babies relatively close together, I probably would've gotten the Phil & Ted's and only would've needed one stroller, because it converts between a single and a double which is really nice. Now that my oldest is 6, I'm back to using the stroller as a single with my little guy.

I also have a Maclaren, because the big stroller is just too much for airports, although I know some people who do it just fine. But having a smaller one for traveling and city trips has been really helpful. And they make these platforms that my older son can stand on behind it, which is AWESOME.

Good luck - I did tons of research as well and found the stroller decision to be really overwhelming. I am sure you will find what works best for you!

All I can say is that my husband pushed me nearly four miles in a Bob the other weekend... and it held up very nicely even though I weigh probably twice the limit!

i currently use my snap and go and my Bob. jonas is 6 months old and 20 pounds and we still use the snap and go, once are are done with that, we will get an umbrella stroller. the bob is just so big that is isnt needed to quick trips to the store, or walking around the mall, etc. its GREAT for walks and run and areas where its not nicely paved. i love love love my bob. and a lot of my mom friends that have travel systems (instead of snap and go's) really regret it, they are so big and heavy and really not the smoothest ride, so it makes more sense for a snap and go. i have this maclaren. http://www.amazon.com/Maclaren-Traveller-Stroller-Black-Silver/product-reviews/B000ELIY26

I had the double Snap and Go for the beginning which was nice; but for only one baby you can get the car seat attachment for the Bob and just have one stroller. I loved my Bob and miss it so much compared to my triple jogger. You don't realize how easy they (the bob) are to push until you compare it to something else--I realize I'm comparing a double to triple and you are looking at single, but it's all relative. ;) Good luck with your search! Babies are the best!

Totally depend on your needs/desires in a stroller! I got a BOB with Meredith. I adore it. I love it for jogging and I love it for walks. To me the only downsides are the basket underneath isn't huge and it's bulky when collapsed. Almost three years later, ours is still going strong.

I also have a snap 'n go type stroller which I highly recommend. It's perfect for keeping in the trunk of your car for trips to the store or restaurants.

We have a double bumbleride and I love it. I would imagine the single would be great, too. It's not as light as the BOB, so if you will be jogging a lot, I'd go for the BOB. If lots of running isn't important for you, then the bumbleride is a good option. The bumbleride has a great storage basket-bug, easy to access) and collapses easily. It also has a great sun shade. I also like the bumbleride because it reclines completely flat so you can lay even a newborn in it (which you can't do with the BOB).

If you think you may have two children close together, you might look into the City Select. It looks really nice and you can add a seat later on. I didn't go that way the second time because my daughter is too tall for it, but I see it all the time out and about.

Hope that helps!

We have the Bob and love it for long walks. If I was a runner I would probably love it for running, but I'm not. Ev and I walk 1.5 miles almost every day and that's what we use. We just keep it popped open in the garage. For running errands, we used a snap & go the first 6 months and recently switched to a mid-priced umbrella stroller, which has worked perfectly.

I never thought I would need two strollers, but the truth is: I can't use the Bob when I'm out running errands, and I can't use my umbrella stroller for long walks around the neighborhood. I use both ALL THE TIME.

I have the City Mini stroller and I'm real happy with it. I do think the BOB is the best stroller out there, but I didn't want to pay twice the price for it. Also, I knew I wasn't going to be jogging while pushing Becca - Ha! I use the stroller occassionally, but I wear Becca a lot more than I push her in a stroller. I recommend getting a carseat attachment rather than a snap and go stroller. There's a bar you snap into your stoller and then you can snap your carseat into it. BOB has them, City Mini has them, etc. That way you can use your nicer stroller right away and you don't have to store two strollers.

I've been thinking about you and hoping you're still feeling well!

Sounds like I'm with everyone else here but I lobe our BOB the attachment made it really is to use early on and you could easily pop the carrier right into the stoller. I also have a Maclaren but to be honest I haven't used it a bunch but I think we will be a lot more in the future! Good luck and let me know if you have any questions at all!
