I've never had the privilege of hosting a housewarming party to date. Now that I have a home I need to "warm," I'm exploring some different ideas of how to celebrate with my closest friends.
While reading Real Simple yesterday, I came across an easy but delicious choice - A Cheese Party. While I like to think of myself as an amateur cheese connoisseur, I appreciate the direction RS gives the hopeful party planner. Shopping lists, ideal cheese and food pairings, what to sip - they've covered it all. I'll keep you posted on how it turns out!

Fantastic idea. I'm actually doing it in a few days (not housewarming but farewell), and I asked each friend to bring a different type of cheese. And lots of wine, of course! I'll de deprived of cheese for the next year, so i'll go a little nuts!
Oh YUM. I was going to write an entry on cheese soon :) My boyfriend and I have our own cheese parties very often, with just one or two types of cheese and just ourselves, but always different. I would be in heaven with a very large spread!
Any party involving cheese is for me.
I read this too, and thought it was a great idea! We are planning to have a "we just moved in together" party at some point, and we'll ask each guest to bring his/her favorite kind of cheese. We'll provide crackers/bread/wine and some irresistible chili lime pistachios!
Oh wow! How great is that?! And of course, I love that there are ways to incorporate some cute design and decorating ideas. Thanks!
