Summer 2010 is going to be great...a new Sex & the City, Twilight: Eclipse, and Harry Potter 7: The Deathly Hallows. Three wishes granted!
Back to Work
Back to work yesterday, I forgot how early 5:15 am felt after my 2 weeks off. Phew, was I exhausted. I even yawned while teaching - something I rarely do, and one of my students goes, "You're pretty tired, aren't you?" Understatement.
When I got home I curled up on the couch while my new friend pounced around my living room, seemingly thrilled that I was home - which is a comforting feeling. I turned on Giada and hungrily watched her make this fresh and summery Citrus Salad. It was a nice flash forward to sunny days when I can make this and have a BBQ on my new deck.

Cat Accessories
Monday, January 4, 2010

As a new cat owner, I'm pretty sure I need this cat mug. Adorable! Don't worry, I'm a one-cat kind of girl, I promise I won't become a crazy cat lady.

Meet My New Friend
Saturday, January 2, 2010
I've got plenty of family members weighing in on what I should name her. Right now the front runner is Jenga. Others I've considered are Luna, Sprout, Phoebe...among others. Any great names you'd like to share with me?
Goals for the New Year
Friday, January 1, 2010
Goals for 2010...1. Always topping my list - travel somewhere new!
2. Try and manage my grocery lists better...I always end up throwing produce away and I hate that.
3. Keep my car cleaner, I don't mind cleaning house but I loathe cleaning my car (the inside at least).
4. Save more money. With all the end of year expenses I had owning a new house, my savings account has been pretty stagnant, and hasn't grown much. I'm hoping for it to increase once I get everything in order.
5. Take up a new hobby (horseback riding, sewing, the possibilities are endless...)
6. Try and visit my sister on study abroad
7. Spend more time with family.
What are your goals/resolutions for the New Year?

Cat Calling
I went to adopt a cat yesterday, but all my faves were snatched out from underneath me. I was eyeballing a gorgeous tortoise-shell calico and this old couple swooped in and collared her before I could even say "She's the one!" Dang it... Then, I found a fuzzy black furball and some teenagers came into the room in droves to claim it with their mom. Grr...Hoping to have better luck later in the week. All I want is a kitty!

Closing 2009
Thursday, December 31, 2009
2009 was a great, fun-filled year for me, despite the economic climate. Here was my Resolution/Goal List for 2009...think I accomplished most of them! 1. Travel somewhere amazing! And it must be outside of North America (I'm not going to limit myself to Europe alone, but that would be my destination du jour) Went to Italy and Croatia with my family for 3 weeks in the summer - CHECK! 2. Run a half marathon - this is the year! (I was slated to do another triathlon in 2008, but I broke my pinky toe - of all the bones to break)... Ran in the Seattle Inaugural Rock 'N Roll Half Marathon, in just over 2 hours, CHECK! 3. Save money for my own place...While I have a fabulous apartment, I'd love to have my own place, that allows pets so I can get a little furry friend. My parents helped me buy my first home in October 2009, CHECK! 4. Treat myself to nice restaurants, good wine, and not-so-practical-but-have-to-have accessories (every once in a while...) Went out to eat as often as financially possible, found a few new delightful eateries, CHECK! 5. Make more of an effort to get groups of friends together more often. Lots of memories, evidenced by lots of photos taken, CHECK! What a great year! Now I have to make my "goal" list for 2010... images/wisheskisses
