Perfect Picnic

Truth be told, Seattle doesn't pose the best year round setting for a romantic picnic. In fact, rain saturated parks might even deter you from that leisurely outdoor meal with your special someone. Yet, should you indulge in this romantic venture, check out the latest picnic accessories from Red Envelope.

How clever is this? A miniature picnic table designed to actually stick into the grass, serves not only as the centerpiece for your feast, but also the steadying foundation for attached wine bottle and glass holders. Ingenious design so you can actually enjoy your romantic rendezvous! Why didn't I think of that?

Find the Animal

While perusing Black Eiffel, I came across these whimsically clever Bronx zoo ads. Turns out animals are easier to find in the concrete jungle that we originally thought!

Backyard BBQ

One of my favorite things about summer is backyard BBQ's. And what is a good BBQ without the classic American dish potato salad? In case you're tired of whipping up the same old potato and mayonnaise combo, Martha Stewart is featuring 10 different takes on the traditional potato salad dish, including this: arugula, potato and green bean salad with creamy walnut dressing. Not your thing, here's a few others that might be to your liking...

Shell becomes...

The irony of this photo is spot on. Literally and figuratively capturing what a trip to the gas station has become. $4.20 a gallon in Seattle right now, RIDICULOUS!

No Reservations

Hear ye, hear ye, famous travel channel host & travel writer Anthony Bourdain is coming to Seattle. As someone who subscribes to multiple travel magazines, and essentially lives and breathes travel - this guy is somewhat of a guru.

While I won't be attending the June 7th, Moore Theatre presentation, I am excited this world traveler is visiting our fair, Emerald City. If you have an inkling for all things travel, crazy foreign cuisine, or sarcastic humor - check him out, Mondays @ 10pm on the Travel Channel.

The Verdict

I attended an 11:30 pm opening night showing of the movie, arm in arm with my best girlfriends, sporting our fiercest high heels - only to find every other gaggle of girls had the exact same idea! Not only that, but our version of "dressed up," was mild in comparison. Honestly, I saw the little black dress / Jessica Simpson high heel combo at least ten times over...

When the doors to the theaters swung open, I've never seen such a flood of females claw, push, even dive past each other to attain a seat. It truly was an estrogen mad house - entertaining in that everyone was equally vested to see Ms. Carrie Bradshaw on the big screen that people were willing to sacrifice their bodies just to do so.

The verdict: SIMPLY FABULOUS!

Hot or Not?

Scarlett Johannson: HOT OR NOT? While my question may seem a bit shallow and celebrity indulgent, a conversation with a guy friend of mine prompted this inquiry. Maxim voted this voluptuous blonde one of the sexiest women alive for 2008, but I've heard conflicting opinions from the male side of the polls - is it the scratchy voice, or newly engaged status that's a deterrent? I'm curious to know...and be honest! HOT OR NOT?
