Barcelona

I'm not usually a Woody Allen fan, but I did enjoy Vicky Cristina Barcelona. It is a great insight into the sights, sound, and personality of Barcelona.

I visited Barcelona in 2005 with 2 friends, and unfortunately the Spanish city didn't make a great first impression on me. We had hoped for a vacation from our vacation - a few days sunning on the beach, and left disgruntled after 3 days of straight rain. We did however, have an opportunity to tour the amazing Gaudi architecture, which this movie effectively captured.

Now, after seeing this film, I want to go back, devour some paella, take a stroll down through Parque Guell, and make that second impression a lasting one...

I watched that film for the first time the other night and really loved it. And of course, it got me daydreaming of a Spanish vacation. I've never been there but am dying to go!

I'll put it on my Netflix! I enjoyed my visit to Barcelona, but I would chose to return to other places first.

My husband and I just rented this movie over the weekend. We both really enjoyed it. Now my hubby wants to go there.

I was reluctant to even see it, because I hated the last Woody Allen movie I watched (the tarot card mystery one?), but I loved this movie, mostly for the gorgeous light.

I loved this movie too and I feel like re exploring Barcelona as my first impressions were not that great. Everybody I ever speak to loves the city so the only thing is to go back. Thank you for stopping by French Essence, xv.
