'Merica Moccs

I know I'm a few days late, and a few dollars short…but aren't these American flag moccasins adorable?!  LOVE Freshly Picked!

Pitch Perfect

I cannot tell you how much I LOVE Kate Middleton in this dress.  Wow!  The color, the cut, the lace, it is utter perfection.  I just wish I had a copy of this Jenny Packham gown hanging in my closet, it is simply stunning on the glamorous princess. Love, love, love her style!

All About Braids

The braids are back in town! All over the blogosphere and in magazines, braids seem to be popping up left and right. As a kid, my mom used to French braid my sisters and my hair all the time, and despite much practice, I have never been able to braid my own hair as good as she braided mine.

However, these Heidi-braids make me want to bust out braids all over again!

Back to Bangs

I did it! I got my hair cut...and went back to bangs! It was kind of an impulse move, inspired by this look, keeping my already long hair and adding swoopy bangs. We'll see how my students react today at school when I show up looking totally different! A kid will always give you their honest opinion...(wish me luck!)

Bringing Back the Bangs

These pictures of Anne Hathaway have me contemplating bringing back the bangs. One thing I'm digging about her bangs is how they're long and side-swept (as opposed to covering the entire forehead across). This seems to provide some hair flexibility or options, if you will...

Fancy a Dance?

Aren't these adorable?!? When I was little, I loved standing on my Dad's feet as he walked around the house. Now you can do the dance-walk in style!image/handmadecharlotte

Culinary Crush

I think I've said this before, but I take back any previous claims, because this is my dream kitchen, or at least a corner of it. It's just so lovely, the blue cabinet, the old country-kitchen jars and kettles, the fresh flowers in the jug, and the shiny white tile...it's just so pretty.

City Chic

Love this look from the Sartorialist. Since the debut of my new TV addiction, The City, I'm feeling everything in my wardrobe looks a little blah in comparison to the glitz and glamor of New York's elite. Maybe I'll add "try and dress more stylish" to my list of New Years goals/resolutions... image/thesartorialist

Umbrella Chic

Seattleites are notorious for not carrying umbrellas. And while I consider myself very Seattle through and through, I find that I do turn to the saving grace of an umbrella in other cities, though they never seem to last... Case and point, I bought a cheap $5.00 umbrella at Duane Reade in NYC after getting caught in an impromptu torrential downpour (which the wind pulled inside-out and ruined within 5 minutes).
Hence - finding a lovely little umbrella is a quest of mine, though I never have much luck. I find that when it comes to forking over $40 for an umbrella, I have a hard time justifying my cause. However, I do like this red polka dot umbrella, very reminiscnent of the chic one Audrey Tautou carries in Amelie.

That's Fierce!

Love, love, love this postcard via rarrarpress. What a fabulous compliment to receive in the mail. Almost like Christian Siriano sent it himself!

Bangin' Bangs

I've jumped on the bandwagon and got bangs! I'm not usually too adventurous when it comes to my hair, but my Las Vegas trip was a worthy excuse for a new haircut, and I took the plunge. Doubting I can pull it off as well as these stylish celebs, but I am enjoying my new do! image/stylefrizz

Summer Camp

Just got my Toast catalog in the mail yesterday...I love these photographs, I liken Toast to a a UK version of Anthropologie. These images makes me nostalgic for summer camp: communal dining, spending your days outdoors, and (although this never materialized for me), spending the afternoon curled up in a hammock with your crush...(sigh).

Glamor from Utility

I love it when people create glamor from utility. These once functional milk bottles have been retired as such, and put to use as fashionable vases for individual Gerber daisies. Utilitarian style at its best!
