Stocking Stuffers: For the Foodie

This looks AMAZING. If you like food (as I do) and you like travel - put your hands together for an extraordinary journey within a book - Food Journeys of a Lifetime 500. This massive volume is filled with culinary greats, my stomach is rumbling just thinking of the endless edible wonders you'll find around the world.

The only trouble is...it might be a little too big for your stocking...

Have Your Fill

Who doesn't like filling? Pies, cream puffs, eclairs, basically any fattening dessert, is delicious because of filling. How would you like to add filling to your pancakes at home? The ultimate stocking stuffer, I'll say. William Sonoma's latest great find is the traditional Danish Ebelskiver, maker of light, puffy pancakes filled with jam, curd, fruit or cheese. Mmm.

Imagine the possibilities...

Pow!

Out with basic, boring milk & dark. If you've got a palette for adventure, snack on one of these sweet treats. Stocking the shelves of Whole Paycheck (a.k.a. Whole Foods) is the sensational line of exotic chocolates by Vosges.

Beware, these flavor combinations are a little coo-coo crazy, but if you're tired of the magic Hershey has to offer, Mo's Bacon Bar (milk chocolate & applewood smoked bacon) and Red Fire Bar (dark chocolate, chipotle chiles & cinnamon) might be just up your alley. Go ahead, mix it up!

Salty & Sweet

Chocolate + Sea Salt? What? That was my initial reaction to hearing this pairing. The verdict: yum! I had the delicious privilege of receiving a Frans Chocolates gift box of dark and milk chocolate Gray Salt Caramels. Yes, I know... sounds completely bizarre and weird, but definitely worth a try!

Take a Sip

I spent the majority of my college career toting around a Nalgene water bottle - well technically 2 - one for water, and one for recreational beverages...Anyway, now I've come to learn that putting these water bottles in the dishwasher can slowly slough away the plastic, health hazard much!?! Whoops, who knew?

At the end of the school year, I received one of these trendy aluminum water bottles from a student's family, and have since become a trek bottle convert. Especially loving these funky, cartoon designs by shinzi katoh.

Garden Delight

When I think of a watering can, I picture a yellow plastic bucket stashed beside a coiled garden hose. However apparently times have changed, and this little piggy here, is indeed a copper watering can from Smith & Hawken.

With all of the effort my mom has recently invested into her backyard, I thought it only fitting that I celebrate her success with an eye-catching watering can that can only serve to enhance the thriving flora and fauna she's already cultivated. I had hoped there'd be a frog watering can, but the options were limited to pigs, roosters, and squirrels. The squirrel is definitely noteworthy, he was my runner-up.images/smith&hawken

Breakfast in Bed

What mom (or person for that matter) doesn't enjoy breakfast in bed? This gift-set from spoonnyc is just the ticket. Complete with buttermilk pancake mix, strawberry jam, and Vermont blueberry syrup, this $35 picnic will certainly sweeten up that Mother's Day breakfast.

Here's how I see it, there are 2 options for delivery
a). Present to mom as such, with ingredients sealed and wrapped, making for a gift that is aesthetically pleasing...
or
b). Be a rock star and actually take the time to whip up these ingredients into a scrumptious breakfast in bed (or maybe convince a younger sibling to do it for you) and deliver it to mom on her special day. I'm thinking option b). is the way to go...brownie points!
