How Many Bridesmaids?

Have you been a bridesmaid before?  I've had the honor and privilege of standing up in three weddings and I'm on deck for three more in the next year.  But this story takes the concept of bridesmaids to the next level!

A 26-year old dance teacher in England recently got married, and standing up beside her were...80 BRIDESMAIDS!!  80?!?!  WHAT?!  Granted, she's a dance teacher and many of the bridesmaids were her students, but dang!  Do you think they even all know each others names?  This makes 27 Dresses look like nothing!

How many bridesmaids did you have?

Vintage Bridesmaid

Mad Men's "Joanie," a.k.a. Christina Henrickson wed Geoffrey Arend in a ceremony with a vintage flare. Her bridesmaids all donned vintage gowns, each unique from the other. Since this post, I've noticed other bloggers reflecting on this notable change in traditional bridal party attire (including this photo below).

What are your thoughts? Stick with dresses of the same hue or let your bridesmaids express their creativity? I'm very curious... images/once wed

Cha Cha Cha

Tired of your typical bride-groom, his and hers, bridesmaid/groomsens all in a row pictures? Well spice it up! Add a little cha-cha-cha to make your special day flamboyantly flamenco inspired. It really is all about the details, these jewel-toned accessories really add a vibrant energy to this beautiful affair.

Oh the Pastels

Snippet & Ink featured a wedding that will definitely mix it up! Instead of your traditional matching dresses, the bridesmaids wore vintage pastel prom dresses! Definitely unique! Thoughts? images/snippetandink via ohappyday

Love Actually

Remember back in July when I was a bridesmaid in one of my best friends' wedding? Here is the absolutely stunning, gorgeous highlight video from her wedding day. It gave me goosebumps the first time I watched it, it's an amazingly perfect flashback of their blessed day. The cinematography, music, light, and love of their special day is captured exquisitely! Countdown

Baillie's wedding is this weekend, thus the countdown has officially begun. We had a successful rehearsal last night at the wedding site. The bride carried her bouquet of ribbons saved up from the bridal shower, and the bridesmaids carried tootsie pop bouquets and practiced walking in our high heels on the grass. Also, Baillie gave us our bridesmaid gifts, matching black clutches and lovely jeweled necklaces to wear on the big day.
So the countdown begins... Tonight I'm picking up the maid of honor at the airport, Saturday is manicures/pedicures in the afternoon, and rehearsal dinner in the evening, and Sunday is the big day - hair, make-up, photographs, and bride & bridesmaid revelry. Should be a good time, looking forward to it!

Wedding Season

My first wedding of the summer is this Sunday, June 29th. Slated for an outdoor shindig, the weather is currently complying - sunny and gorgeous (knock on wood!). Today starts the wedding countdown as we have our outdoor rehearsal run-through this evening. In honor of this blessed event, I am reposting my new fave "Summer Sweetness" wedding board from Snippet & Ink.
