Take a Sip

I spent the majority of my college career toting around a Nalgene water bottle - well technically 2 - one for water, and one for recreational beverages...Anyway, now I've come to learn that putting these water bottles in the dishwasher can slowly slough away the plastic, health hazard much!?! Whoops, who knew?

At the end of the school year, I received one of these trendy aluminum water bottles from a student's family, and have since become a trek bottle convert. Especially loving these funky, cartoon designs by shinzi katoh.

Before This Year Is Up...

I want to...take a hot air balloon ride,

muster up the guts to go skydiving,

and go zip-lining (somewhere)!

With all this fabulous sunshine, and no definite summer travel plans - I feel like I need some adventure...anyone want to join me in any of these endeavors?

Sweet Summertime

This photo reminds me of the lazy summers my sisters and I spent as kids. Romping around the neighborhood, frequenting neighborhood block parties, local festivals, and the long awaited 4-H county fair in my grandparents hometown. Life was so effortless then, I'm sure we truly did have plenty moments just like this one; indulging in the simple pleasures of balloon animals while sipping cherry slurpies with curly straws. Ahh, the life.

Emerald Jewel

I recently watched the film version of Ian McEwan's Atonement, a tragic love story that made for a heartbreaking movie. I am in love with Keira Knightley's luxurious green gown, that her character Cecilia dons early in the film. The low back, vintage tie-in-front sash, and jeweled color make for an absolutely stunning emerald confection.

Prom!

My friend Jody and I went shopping one day and found a super cute sequiny black dress in Old Navy of all places and decided...hmm, where could we wear this? Vegas? No...too expensive. Where else...Prom?

With that, the prom party was born. On 4th of July Eve we hosted the ultimate prom party appropriately themed "IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME." We got a little into the decorations and bought stars to dangle from the ceiling, a disco ball, and many props for prom-themed photo ops. I painted the very prommy Seattle skyline backdrop, and poked Christmas lights through it to simulate stars. We kept the dress code pretty flexible, some people went true-to-form floor length gown prom, others went 80's, or thrift shop prom, all in all it was a great time!
