Balance

Sorry for the lack of recent blog posts...

With a new school year kicking off, teaching a new grade level, and juggling my personal life, blogging has unfortunately drawn the short straw.  I'm hoping to jump start my posting in the upcoming weeks, so if you're still out there...thanks for staying with me!

Link Love from a Blog Slacker

Hello my lovelies - sorry it's been one crazy, busy, whirlwind kind of week around these parts!  Getting ready to head out of town for a family reunion in Montana tonight, and tying up loose odds and ends has taken me much longer than I anticipated.  My apologies for being a bit of a blog slacker.  But luckily, I have a week off school next week (hip, hip, hooray!) and I will be back in my best blogging form in no time.
In the mean time, I leave you with a few links from around the web.

M.I.A.

Hey guys, sorry for being MIA this week. With 2 weeks left til we take the plunge, it's been crazytown around here, trying to get everything finalized and pitch perfect for the big day (in addition to working everyday!). Be back next week to share some of our engagement photos!

Have a fab weekend!

Ill

I'm still sick...
Despite my resting, eating plenty of spicy pho, drinking tea like it's my J.O.B...I must take my scratchy throat and scary cough to school, and spend my energy reserves teaching 24 second graders today.
Bah, humbug.

Think healthy thoughts...

Back to School Snooze

Oh man, for some reason, every year I forget how crazy and tiring the first few weeks of school are! Yesterday when I arrived home from school, I literally cast all my bags into the corner, and leapt onto the couch where I happily sprawled for an hour doing absolutely nothing. The first time I sat down all day....it was heaven!

The beginning of the school year has lent me to be a bit delayed on my blogging. Whenever I miss a day, I usually hear a "what happened to the blog today?" from my sister, mom, or fiance, and I hate to disappoint. While it's no excuse family, trying to grapple with preparing, planning, and teaching a new literacy curriculum have had to take precedent, but I'm happy to report my class is lovely, and we're off to a great start!

My Day Job

I'm sorry dear blog and wonderful readers, I've been neglecting you...it's true. While I wish I could make a living via blogging alone, I make the *big bucks* during my day job, teaching elementary school.

This week has been jam packed with back-to-school seminars and classes to bring all of us teachers up to speed on new curriculum. So, instead of blogging I've been getting my classroom ready for the impending school year.

I can't believe school is starting so soon!! My summer literally flew by, mostly because I taught summer school, so truly I didn't get much of a vacation. However, despite my shortened summer, I'm looking forward to a new academic year, a new crop of students, and all the learning that lies ahead.

I fully intend on committing myself back to the blog after the hustle and bustle of the new school year settles. Thanks for sticking with me. :)

Nap

Sorry I've been a lazy blogger. I feel like this right about now...EXHAUSTED.
Summer school is wearing me down and I can't help but count the days. I'm looking forward to a girls weekend in Portland and a fun summer concert will help me recharge.

Sick

I woke up yesterday morning feeling fine. Then halfway through the day, my nose started dripping like a faucet, and my body became so achy and tired, it was incredibly difficult to keep teaching. When I returned home and took my temperature, I had a 100.9 degree fever. Awesome.

So...now I'm camped out on the couch for a legitimate sick day, sipping orange juice, surrounded by kleenex, and feeling incredibly under the weather. Blah...

Day

Sorry for the lack of posts, I've been having a day like this... ....be back tomorrow image/ffffound

Tired

I am dragging today. I did a stairs workout yesterday, part of my strength building on the road to my half marathon. This morning, I could hardly open my eyes...I was so tempted to call in sick, but the prospect of writing sub plans is just not appealing. Wish I was relaxing like these people right now...

Day Off

Sorry for the unexpected day "off" blogging. My entire day yesterday went something like this... It started with a tough day at school...followed by a migraine headache...followed by a sleepless night...no fun! Hoping today will be a better day! Be back in full force ASAP!

Under the Weather

Feeling bleh...sore throat, achy, sick all over...sadly, I'm not in much of a mood for blogging my friends. Send me your healthy vibes! See you tomorrow (hopefully). image/lilbee

Blah

I'm sick...boo! It's 4:30 and I've been drowning myself in EmergenC and taken about 10 naps already today... Hoping to feel better tomorrow. image via zest & thyme

Drained

This is how I feel right about now...hosting parent teacher conferences have me wiped out. Going to cozy up on the couch for the new 90210, and go to bed early. (big sigh)...see you all tomorrow. image/ffffound

Yawn

Woke up feeling kind of like this today....tired, eyes open, my body not wanting to pull itself out of bed, or sluggish at best. Wouldn't it be nice if I could sleep in a few more minutes? image/sharonmontrose

Slacker

Sorry I have been a blog slacker my lovelies...this week has been chaotic - as one of my oldest and dearest friends Sarah is getting married tomorrow!! I've been a busy little bee, with working with my summer job, tutoring, trying to have a social life, and being a dutiful bridesmaid, helping out with last minute errands for the big day. Hoping to redeem myself next week (if you'll have me)...

Happy Friday!
