Froyo & A Movie

My husband and I had frozen yogurt & a movie date night last night, a variation on your usual "dinner and a movie."  The froyo was excellent by the way - Menchie's is the latest and greatest thing to grace Seattle - a city that was seriously lacking in frozen yogurt for too many years.   My husband went for sweet: cheesecake + caramel while I opted for chocolate + pistachio swirl.  Delish!
Post froyo, we watched 50/50, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogan, and Anna Kendrick.  The  movie is about Adam (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a successful 27-year old guy diagnosed with a rare form of spinal cancer and how his life is affected post-diagnosis.  Seth Rogan is superb as the there-for-you sidekick to Adam, providing welcome comic relief to Adam in his time of need. Anna Kendrick is pleasantly neurotic as Adam's psychiatrist, disclosing the fact that he's only her third patient ever during their first session.  The movie is well done, plus the bonus of a well paired soundtrack.  As whole - I felt the story to be honest, fairly realistic, and the characters were well developed.  Definitely check it out!
All in all - a great little date night!

Snow Day

Today was a "snow day," if you can even call it that. Scattered flurries and dustings on and off for a few days constitutes a snow day, right? My fiance took the day off and we enjoyed the entire day off together. It was fabulous!

Our agenda didn't consist of anything out of the ordinary; we ran a few errands, picked out his birthday to me (a darling pair of Kate Spade sunglasses), made dinner together (salmon with pesto-butter, yum!), and watched a few episodes of Season 1 of The Wire. All in all, a perfect Thursday, albeit so much better because it was all in good company.

Date at the Museum

Picasso is in town...(well, the exhibit that is). I'm an art history major and always eager to scope out new museum exhibits. When I heard that a collection of Picasso's works from the Musée National Picasso in Paris were coming to Seattle, I jumped at the chance to see this monumental artist's works in person.

My boyfriend and I headed to the SAM (Seattle Art Museum) for a day date. The exhibition was really interesting, they did a nice job at covering the span the art he created throughout the span of his life rather than just focusing on pieces from his most famous period - Cubism. After our day at the museum, we cruised Pike Place Market, and had lunch at one of it's finest bakeries, Le Panier. What a fun Saturday!

Pumpkin Patch + Carving

Two weekends ago my bf and I took advantage of the gorgeous October sunshine and ventured to the local pumpkin patch. It was apparently a popular Sunday activity as the patch was teeming with small children, but we moseyed through the rows and picked two supremely perfect pumpkins (in my humble opinion).

We didn't get around to carving the pumpkins until last week - but here they are! Mine is the cat, his is supposed to have crazy eyes sticking out it's tongue, though we thought it kind of ended up looking like a lunatic with a goatee. Go figure! Good times pumpkin carving!
