Raise the Flag

Before I jet off to Italy and Croatia next Tuesday, I'm going to do my part in honoring our country by making this delectable Flag Cake for my friends and I at our 4th of July BBQ. Looking forward to sunshine, sparklers, and a whole lotta red, white, and blue!

Any fun plans? Fill me in, what are y'all up to on our this lovely independence day?

I love the look of this cake-I blogged about it yesterday! I haven't decided if I'm going to attempt to actually make it or not, but you'll have to let me know how yours turns out! Hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend :)

I'm not doing anything at all. It's the worst holiday to be away for. So homesick... And that cake's not helping :-)

Have a great weekend, and more importantly, have an amazing time in Italy and Croatia! I'm looking forward to hearing all about it.

This is the exact cake my mom always made except sometimes she would layer in a trifle bowl! Ahhh - sweet memories!

We are off to the parade and then to watch fireworks over the Bay (with a little bubbly of course!).

Happy 4th to you, and enjoy your upcoming trip! Can't wait to see photos and read stories...
