We just arrived back from Bozeman, Montana tonight, and two lovely new cookbooks were nestled on my doorstep, eagerly awaiting my return, Smitten Kitchen and Joy the Baker. So excited to thumb through the glossy pages in anticipation of delicious eats! For the remainder of my week off school, I'm going to attempt 1 recipe from each. I unofficially decided that for Lent this year, I'm going to "eat healthier," so here goes nothing. Thus, this quote seemed quite fitting for my weekend ahead. And besides, who's going to argue with Julia? People who love to eat really are the best people!
I'm honestly looking forward to this culinary endeavor, and hopefully I can stick to it! Are you familiar with either of these cookbook? Any recipes you'd suggest I tackle first...?

I have both and am obsessed with both! I've made Joy's granola bars and brown butter chocolate chip cookies - and a couple pancake recipes (she has a ton). Everything was yummy. And obviously everything in Deb's book is to die for. Enjoy your week off and happy cooking!! xoxo
PS I don't know why it says unknown, I signed in!! This is Carly :)
I've been loving my Smitten Kitchen cookbook!
Please share any good recipes you try! We've been eating healthier for the wedding and are constantly looking for something new. We just watched Hungry for Change on Netflix...great motivation if you need it!
Joys cookbook may be a little limited on the, ahem, healthy recipes. But she has a toasted oat smoothie I love. When you're not eating healthy the whiskey banana bread pudding is to die for and so is the chocolate peanut butter ice cream
I really don't enjoy cooking, but I WANT to! Maybe I should make a goal to try one recipe a month, too. That seems like a realistic goal and who knows, hopefully I will end up liking it! :-)
