What Are You Reading?
It's been a while since I've read a book - a real book - that didn't relate to the topics of parenting, breastfeeding, or sleep schedules. What are you reading these days? Do tell… I've love a recommendation or two!
I just finished The Girl You Left Behind, by JoJo Moyes, who also wrote Me Before You. Oh my gosh I adored both of these books and would highly recommend both. The Girl...perhaps a bit more because the ending is wholly satisfying. But both will stick with you.
I'm really embarrassed, but I stopped reading for awhile. Blogs and work just seem to eat up my time. I just started the Age of Innocence, and it's great! It just feels so good to do something for myself.
Also "Blue Plate Special" by Kate Christensen is engrossing. "Eighty Days" by Matthew Goodman for a historical fix. And "Brain on Fire" by Susannah Calahan is unputdownable!
I've been on a lucky streak this month! Great mysteries are In the Blood and Mercy Snow. Historical fiction would be The Wife, the Maid and the Mistress. Last but not least Bristol House. Really great reading- all of it!
I finally read my first book since Mylo was born! It was GONE GIRL by Gillian Flynn. It's a dark thriller and pretty fascinating, would highly recommend.
Currently reading Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling. So far so good...but I'm also reading The Gifts of Imperfection for a little self-growth.
ReplyDeleteI've just read The Husband Secret written by Australian writer - Liane Moriarty. It was surprisingly good.

Just finished Goldfinch (loved!). Now I'm reading Unbroken (Angelina is directing the movie, coming out next Christmas). Love it so far.
ReplyDeleteGoldfinch by Donna Tartte - loving it
ReplyDeleteI second or third The Husband Secret. Liane Moriarty is great!
