With our Ireland trip just 3 short weeks away, we are getting excited! I'm mentally mapping out outfits, highlighting places to see + dine in my guidebook, and perusing amazon in search of worthy books to add to my trusty kindle for our journey. Here's a few of my recent reads:
+ The Dirty Life by Kristin Kimball
+ Bloom by Kelle Hampton
+ Heaven is Here by Stephanie Nielson
+ 50 Shades of Grey by E.L. James
+ Bringing up Bebe by Pamela Druckerman
As I'm typing this and rereading my words, I'm thinking Wow, that's an eclectic collection of recent reads...farmer memoir, blogger memoir, another blogger memoir, soft-core porn smut, capped off with a memoir of motherhood in France. What a well rounded reader I am...haha...
Anyway, I need some titles to download for our 10 hour flights. What DO you recommend? What have you been reading lately?
The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making - wonderfully sweet with a precocious main character!
ReplyDeleteHave you read the Hunger Games? Very easy, yet intriguing read. Also "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers is good! I need to load up our Kindle as well (cruise next week, work conference the next week, another conference in July for a week)!
ReplyDeleteHi :)
ReplyDeleteOne book I am reading right now, and loving is Patti Smith - Just Kids. The book is really well written ...
Have a great day from a sunny Oslo :)
Love your list. I just finished The Paris Wife which I loved. Simple quick read but perfect for my Hemingway obsession.
ReplyDeleteA Refreshed Take Off
I read and LOVED Apron Anxiety. For more on the memoir kick, I also enjoyed Andy Cohen's book "Most Talkative", Jenn Gilbert's "I Never Promised You A Goodie Bag", and Carole Radziwill's "What Remains". For fiction, there's no better way to spend a 10-hour flight than the Game Of Thrones books!
ReplyDeleteYou must read Divergent! So good!
ReplyDeleteLove your collection. :) That's quite an assortment. Happy reading!
ReplyDeletei'm reading stephen king's 11/22/63 right now and loving it! it would be a good kindle book because it's super big. but don't worry, it reads really fast!
ReplyDeleteI would really recommend 'If God Was a Rabbit' which i read recently. Also, as you are going to Ireland, what about 'Around Ireland with a fridge' or 'Troubles' by J G Farrell (brilliant!)
ReplyDeleteHave you read Heaven is for real?? That was the last really good book I read. On a scale from 1-10, how much will I cry reading Bloom? As a new momma? I SOBBED reading her birth story on her blog, which I definitely should NOT have read while pregnant!
ReplyDeleteI just finished Bringing up Bebe and it was excellent! Beware, you will seriously consider up and moving to Paris!
ReplyDeleteNice blog!
