One of my favorite things about the holidays is the nostalgia it inspires. Christmas time always encourages me to seek out things of comfort. I mean take hot cocoa or mulled cider, do you honestly drink these things nearly as often as you do during the Christmas season?
One of my favorite Christmas indulgences is re-watching all of my favorite Christmas movies. This year, I added Little Women to my personal DVD collection. I had forgotten how much I loved this movie until I netflixed it a few months ago.
Some other Christmas favorites include...
*Elf
What are your favorite Christmas movies?

Thanks for visiting me! All of my favorite Christmas movies are on your list: It's a Wonderful Life, Love Actually, and Little Women.
ReplyDeleteYep yep and yep. I love Little Women and I do watch it most years. It's a wonderful life, miracle on 34th street (original version), and love actually. Classics. Christmas vacation too.
ReplyDeleteMy very favourite of all time is It's a Wonderful Life. I love it so, so much.
ReplyDeleteAlso very fond of some other old classics- Miracle on 34th Street, The Bells of St Mary's, Holiday Inn and White Christmas.
Our family always likes to watch Christmas Vacation and joke about how my dad always got the biggest Griswald style Chrsitmas tree.
I love Love Actually, too. "I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes. Christmas is all around me, and so the feeling grows!"
have you seen "the family man" or "the family stone"? great holiday movies. the family man is a modern day "it's a wonderful life." two of my faves. =)
ReplyDeleteI love Serendipity! And of course The Santa Claus (1, 2 and 3!!) I really like Christmas with the Kranks too... must be something about Tim Allen. Elf is great too. So many great movies!
ReplyDeletei love little women. i have four younger sisters so it's fun to watch it with them. i like all those you mentioned plus the family stone. and enchanted is fun to watch during the holidays, even though it's not really a holiday movie.
ReplyDeleteOoh that's a good list! I always watch Love, Actually and The Holiday with my mum while we wrap present...oh and Black Books is a holiday tradition in my family too, although it's not Christmassy at all ;)
ReplyDeleteI could watch Elf on repeat. And I love The Holiday-it's like two chick flick, holiday movies in one.
ReplyDeletei was JUST thinking about this as i rummaged my house for my copy of christmas vacation - my absolute favorite. closely followed by white christmas and love actually.
ReplyDeletekristen
mikie and kristen
I love all the ones you mention. Another favorite is White Christmas - it's an old classic musical. My roommate introduced it to me in college and I made so much fun of it/her at first, then I finally came around to like it :)
ReplyDeleteOn the opposite end of the spectrum...I asked my husband what Christmas movies he loved and he said "Die Hard one and two." Ha!
The "Holiday", "the family stone"' are also awesome.
ReplyDeleteUm. Yes. We have similar chirstmas movies tastes. Home Alone, Little Women, It's a wonderful life, and Love Actually. I can't wait to watch them over and over all day once school is out next week!
ReplyDeleteLove actually is a movie I have to watch every year along with the holiday. Which is strange because i am not a chic flick watcher I much prefer drama, action or vampire.
ReplyDeleteBut those two I watch every year, I have them on DVD
Xx
