Guess where I'm headed tonight...
Yesiree, taking the red eye to New York City!! My littlest sister is graduating college, talk about feeling OLD! My other sister and I are meeting up in NYC for a day and a half before taking the train to Providence, Rhode Island to partake in the graduation festivities on Sunday, but not before a quick stop over in the city to do some quality shopping, eating, and sightseeing!
Any suggestions of places we MUST visit in our day and a half in NYC? And P.S., special shout out to Natalie of The SoHo for some great ideas of things to do!! This is one of the reasons why I blog, so many great recommendations from locals.
I'll report back on Tuesday about all of our adventures in NYC and beyond! Happy Memorial weekend my lovelies.

sounds like so much fun! enjoy. it's totally a tourist spot, but serendipity 3 has the BEST frozen hot chocolate. it is worth the wait.
ReplyDeleteI highly recommend having breakfast or lunch at Cookshop, walking a few blocks to the High Line and walking it down to MeatPacking, and tuck in for a French snack at Pastis or a quick coffee at the Standard Hotel. If it's nice, it's a quick walk to SoHo from there!
ReplyDeleteI love Mrs. N's suggestion! Going to the High Line is a must. Then walk around (or, more likely, get lost) in the maze of lovely streets in Greenwich Village. Have a safe trip!
ReplyDeleteahh! have fun!
ReplyDeleteplaces i'd go:
fishes eddy (for housewares)
grays papaya (for hot dogs)
century 21 (for bargain fashion)
safe travels!
Lexington Candy shop is a great place to go for milk shakes with a classic diner look at feel... you might even see paul mccartney!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely take a walk on the High Line
Grimaldi's pizza in brooklyn - best pizza I have ever ate. Worth the 45 minute wait to get in.
Have fun!!
yeah i can't wait to go back! sometimes i miss living there. i can't wait to show you topshop! hot pic by the way...
ReplyDeleteTop of the Rock (at 30 Rockefeller) has an amazing view of the entire island...on a clear day. I also make my friends get me peanuts and bagels from their neighborhood (ANY neighborhood will have them) cause they're SO amazing and cheap. And if you have time, grab a cocktail at the boathouse in Central Park to cool down with some good views. Love NYC!!
ReplyDeleteyou have to eat indian food at panna II. imagine: a tiny train car sized restaurant with indian food where so many lights are strung above you that you can't stand up straight. amazing. at least do the google image search so you can see what i'm talking about. :)
ReplyDeleteOhh, I'm headed there in September for my Husbands 30th Birthday! He's a huge Yankees fan and the Red Sox are playing the day before his big bash! Would love to know where youre staying and can't wait to hear more suggestions!
ReplyDeleteHave a blast! :)
Thanks for the shout-out! Hope you have a great time!
ReplyDeleteWow how exciting!! I hope you have an amazing time :)
ReplyDeleteHave fun! I don't live in New York but I've been. A food place that really stood out to me was some random hole in the wall place that had an AMAZING tuna melt. doesn't really help that I don't know the name or where it is though...sorry! :/
ReplyDeleteI totally agree to go to Panna II. I have been a few times for birthdays and I was there again this past Thursday night. The food is not to die for, but the lights are! Makes for amazing photos and it is BYOB. I recently went to the store called Evolution in SOHO and it has some of the strangest/ most interesting things I have ever seen for sale. I would describe it as the Natural History Museum, but everything is for purchase. There are a handful of things that I found disturbing but overall it is an amazing store to go peek into. Within walking distance is the truly lovely Balthazar Bakery, (Bakery has sandwiches and pastries and if you are looking for a little more to eat there is a full scale restaurant next door!)
ReplyDeletei love NYC... hope you had a fantastic time at graduation!
