Wedding Shoes

I'm on a mission - to find the perfect wedding shoes. Since I'm 5'11" and would like to be shorter than my fiance on the big day, I'm looking for wedding flats in lieu of wedding heels. However, I don't want to skimp on style simply because I'm opting for flats. Having said that, I'm kind of a wimp with shoes, and comfort is important. I mean, I'll probably be wearing these shoes for half the day, so they have to sustain the evening without blisters (if possible).

So I ask all you brides out there - where did you find your wedding shoes? Any recommendations; brands, websites, secrets you're just waiting to share with future brides? I'd love some ideas!

  1. My sister bought some very cute plain white sandals with small wedges. We then added some glitz to them to make them perfet for her wedding day. They were comfortable and cute and added a personal touch to what she wore for her big day!

  2. My mom bought mine for me! I also had an alternate plan to festoon my shoes with flowered shoe clips, so that might be another option too! J Crew always has adorable flats.

  3. I imagine flats also being more practical because you'll be all over the place walking around so you won't be so tired! =)

  5. I bought mine on e-bay, but I came across these yesterday from Ivanka Trump and wish they could have been mine! I love the Dimund pair, but the flat is very pretty, too.

  7. My hairdresser posted a pic from a wedding she went to recently and the Bride wore White glittery Toms! or at least they looked white...

Now I don't own a pair of Toms [yet] but that seems to be a very comfy option and when you buy a pair, a little kid gets one hundreds of miles away...sounds like the best "something new" right?

    Just an idea...good luck girl!

  8. I'm still pre-wedding myself, but my advice would be to find a line of shoes that are usually the most comfortable, best fitting shoes you own (for me that's kate spade or seychelles), and pick their fanciest pair.

I ended up going with kate for the big day, but on impulse, during their last sale. best of luck!

  12. Barefoot :) My entire wedding party and I went barefoot on my wedding day. Wearing Toms is a great idea too. Just don't wear them a lot before the wedding day so they don't get stinky!

  13. What about TOMS?? If you don't know, they give a pair of their shoes for every pair you buy. They even have a wedding collection that includes styles like ivory, glitters, and their original canvas.
Congrats & best wishes on the shoe shopping! Hope this helps!

  16. i think my wedding shoes were marni. i opted for a very low, wide-ish heel, since it was all outdoors and i didn't want to sink in the muck.
i think there's tons of cute flats out there. i've seen a lot at DSW lately. i love photos of brides in bright, colored shoes with their dresses. (mine were pink.)

  17. Thanks for the sweet comment:-) Oooh, wedding shoes! Wish I could help: I went barefoot! I'm 5'10" and had a similar issue, (didn't want to be towering above everyone), but I always wanted to be a barefoot bride, so it was all good. xoxo

  19. I wore Aerosoles Disco Dance in pink metallic for my wedding. I loved them! Very comfortable and beautiful.

I know they come in several colors, but it looks like they aren't as available as they were when I bought mine.

I did recently find these lovely rosette sandals that look comfy and remind me of the heels you have in the photo:
