I saw the critically acclaimed drama
Black Swan today. Wow, is that movie intense!! Psychological thriller much? Starring Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis, the ballet aspect of this film is exquisite. You can tell the actresses trained extensively for their roles, they truly did look and embody real ballerinas. But there's definitely a lot of nervous, jump-out-of-your-seat moments and unnerving scenes which didn't exactly win me over. I guess that means they were effective though, right?
Overall, it was a unique film, I would say definitely up for some awards come Oscar season. Anyone else seen it? What did you think?

I haven't seen it yet, it's not out in England until the end of the month, but I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI am dying to see it because I love Natalie Portman and love ballet (I danced for 10 years), but I'm so nervous about the psychological thriller part! ah! I'm probably going to see it anyways!
ReplyDeleteI saw it and I freakin' LOVED it. Here is my blog post about it. Thought it was one of the best movies of 2010. It was intense. It was sexy. It was riveting. It was disturbing. It was beautiful.
ReplyDeletei loved it. natalie portman was absolutely amazing and convincing in this role. my favorite part was when she was dancing the black swan number at the end...super intense!
ReplyDeleteit was too much for me. i felt sick and anxiety filled afterwards. not my idea of fun. with that said, natalie killed it.
ReplyDeletei really liked it. it was beautiful, and had a classic thrilling and suspenseful storyline. :)
ReplyDeleteplus i lived across the street from lincoln center for years, so it was nice to see the old 'hood.
I've not heard of it before, but definitely like the styling and always always love Natalie Portman.
