I've been playing house with my new roomie for a week and it's been so much fun! This weekend, we made the trek down to Ikea to pick up some new furniture to accommodate the incredible amount of combined stuff we have. We did have some testing trials with one certain beaudoir that just didn't want to fit through the doorway. For most of the weekend, our living room was cluttered with cardboard boxes, random odds & ends, tools, and finally, it's starting to materialize as furniture (to house all of our stuff)!
It's been a fun transition, having him here everyday. I've enjoyed all the little things we now do together everyday; making dinner, watching our favorite shows, and setting up house. I'll keep you posted as we continue to settle into this new chapter.

Some people say the true test of a relationship is how well you travel together. I think it's the IKEA test. If you can get through the store and assembling the furniture without killing each other, you're good to go :-)
ReplyDeleteAw! Congrats on your new, exciting change! (And I totally agree with Vanessa--that place is so overwhelming!)
ReplyDeleteI love these eggs! I want such pan too. And I wish you to have such fun whole life with him, if he's the only one :)
ReplyDeleteaww... i remember when my guy and i first moved in together. it did feel like playing house! i think it just gets better as you go! good luck!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on such an exciting new chapter of your life (and dealing with Ikea furniture madness!)
ReplyDeleteYay! So happy for you two!
ReplyDeleteah, i was at IKEA this weekend too! something about that store is so lovely!
ReplyDeleteaw, my heart just gurgled. so cute.
ReplyDeletecongratulations on this new chapter of your life! it must be precious to be able to do all the "boring things" together!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI moved in with my boyfriend almost a year ago, and I STILL love doing those little things, like making dinner together, reading in bed side-by-side, telling each other about our days when we get home in the evening, snuggling on the couch...it just feels like HOME. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you! The picture is great too:)
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday!
Congratulations! I'm obsessed with IKEA. Be sure to post pictures of your new furniture!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post, and you couldn't have picked a more perfect image! Playing house really is so much fun. Sometimes I catch a glimpse of myself and Paulie on the couch, dogs and now baby alongside us, and I feel like we're still just 16.
ReplyDeleteoh, yay! I'm glad everything is going well! no matter how much you love someone, I think there is always a bit of trepidation about moving in and living with that person! :) so I'm very glad to hear you both are adjusting nicely. it really is an exciting time, getting to enjoy the little things together, as the other commenters said, and having an excuse for a little redecorating and Ikea shopping doesn't hurt either! hehe
ReplyDeleteahhhh i remember that time. so exciting. it will only happen once, enjoy it :)
