My sister made it safely to Sydney! Thanks for all your kind words and thoughts. Lucky for us, blackberry messenger works across continents, so she BBM'd me when she landed. Still holding onto the slim hope that I can visit her during my school's Spring break. All I need now is for my finances to cooperate...
P.S. If anyone catches wind of any fabulous travel deals/steals from Seattle to Sydney - please let me know!!
glad to hear she landed safe and sound! i am so jealous - i would love to go to australia.
ReplyDeleteif you are looking for flight deals check out redtag.ca - its great if you are willing to fly last minute. - for the last week of march there are flights from seattle to sydney for just over 1000.
good luck!
As a teacher you can get discounts through STA travel (http://www.statravel.com/#) and the site TravelZoo (http://www.travelzoo.com/) has amazing deals they send you each week, one of them might be to Sydney! I can't think of a better way to spend money than with travel. We can all live vicariously through you via your blog, best of luck.
ReplyDeleteI'm flying to Sydney over my schools spring break (march 26-april 5), and got a flight through Virgin Australia from LAX to Sydney for 800 bucks. I booked a while ago, but it might be worth checking into! The flight from D.C. to LA and back killed me though. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteTry scanning webjet.com.au for cheap flights from LA to Syd (as an American who lives in Syd, this is how I plot my visits home). You can usually snag a Virgin Australia (V Australia) flight for much much cheaper than Quantas or Delta. Of course you have to get down the coast to LA but that's usually not too hard. :) Good luck, hope you get to see your sister!
