There's A New Bridesmaid in Town

According to the New York Times, there's a new bridesmaid's dress code: "black, gold, sparkly, or cocktail." Way to change up tradition...

All you brides and brides-to-be out there, what do you think?

I love the idea of gold. I've been to several weddings in the past five or so years with black bridesmaids dresses. Then again, it's New York where black is the official wardrobe color of choice.

The dress my bridesmaids chose is "cocktail" and I really like it! I didn't want something that looked too traditionally bridesmaid-y

they say party to me instead of wedding. not a fan...but you would wear those again rather than the traditional bridesmaid stuff

The middle one is like what my maid of honor wore (I didn't have a bridal party). But then, I also wore a short, black dress so I'm all for it!

I love it, especially the LBDs ... so flattering and versatile on everyone! I'm just giving my bridesmaids a color and letting them choose their own dresses.

I love black dresses at weddings, and I've long thought cocktail dresses made more sense, but I'm not sold on gold. A friend had gold/black bridesmaid dresses in her wedding 11 years ago, and had a hard time figuring out what color flowers for their bouquets.
